Case Overview
The Cargo Case combines multiple cosmetic items within one randomized pool. Its structure is defined by rarity tiers, so frequently occurring items represent most outcomes while scarcer items contribute more heavily to the upper end of the value distribution. Market positioning depends on the quality of included skins, trading activity, weapon popularity, visual demand, and available marketplace supply. Evaluation should therefore consider the full pool rather than only its rarest entries, because mid-tier consistency can materially affect the overall distribution.
Value and Risk Factors
Expected value, or EV, is the probability-weighted average value of all possible outcomes, not a forecast for one opening. A case may contain high-value items but still have a lower EV when their probabilities are small or when most outcomes sit in lower-value tiers. Variance is a key risk factor: larger gaps between common and rare results create a less stable return profile. Other relevant factors include item liquidity, price dispersion, demand stability, changes in skin popularity, and shifts in marketplace supply. A balanced pool can reduce dispersion, while a top-heavy pool increases dependence on low-probability outcomes.
